Coat Angels buys and donates large quantities of jackets to students whose families can’t afford a new coat or other winter necessities. Cynthia Jacob, the Coat Angels owner and founder, wanted a logo to represent her growing nonprofit that would convey the mission and family-friendly ideals.
Brand Guidelines
Process
Based on the client’s general ideas and direction, I explored concepts through thumbnail sketching and created a vector icon based on the top choice. The typeface Comfortaa, a rounded geometric sans-serif is free for personal and commercial use on Google Fonts, which was a plus for a small nonprofit. Its rounded shape and large x-height give it a friendly appearance without being overly-casual. To make sure the logo was adaptive, I made vertical, horizontal, and tagline-free options, along with two color options for light and dark backgrounds. The accompanying 18-page brand guideline will help her keep the brand identity consistent.
