Kuniko’s Teriyaki is a Japanese Restaurant that serves a variety of foods. Their original menu had too many pages, did not convey information clearly, and lacked visual interest. This redesign aimed to convey a classy, casual, and modern look and solve the issues of the previous menu.

Kegon Engi Emaki is an emakimono or painted handscroll from 13th century Japan; its delicate yet exciting lifework influenced the illustration. To bring a modern touch, the waves crash through the letters of Futura PT Bold of the headings, which contrasts the thin flowing waves with its bold, geometric letterforms. Each of the featured menu items is hand-illustrated being tossed within the waves like little boats. The content was organized into a more effective layout through a hierarchical typographic system.
