Campground Signage

Colorado National Monument’s Saddlehorn Campground is a popular camping destination. Their previous signage was outdated and the park was implementing a new reservation system. The new system was more complex and the signage needed to convey which sites were available to visitors quickly. The Fee staff also requested a sign that communicated the equipment suitability for each site (tent, RV, etc.). The new signage was well-received and praised by members of the national fees and rec.gov staff.

Amphitheater Wayside

Colorado National Monument completed construction on an amphitheater in 2024. The amphitheater replaced a previous historical amphitheater, so the park was required to erect a sign explaining the significance of the previous amphitheater. I researched and wrote the copy and collaborated with the park’s Resource Officer and the Interpretation and Education Program Manager to decide what information needed to be included. I had the opportunity to look at the park’s historical archive to find the pictures I used in the final design.
