Life Timeline

Brief
The goal for this project was to create a timeline with three major life events from each year of life. The visual identity of the timeline must be based off of a self portrait that uses a nontraditional media and other illustrations. The timeline should be built to be viewed on a phone.
Process
For my self portrait I took a photo of myself in an interesting pose and decided to use leaves from a bush I found outside to create the skirt. For the traditional media, I used watercolor and liners.
Because I used watercolor in my self portrait, I cut up watercolor paper into twelve, screen-sized slips of paper. I sketched out an watercolored a tree that connected across those pieces of paper and scanned them. They needed a good amount of digital retouching because parts didn’t quite match up as well as I intended.
After scanning, I began working in Adobe Xd. I worked with the body copy I had written (the three facts from each year) and selected a font. I chose Bely because it is a readable serif that had interesting numeral characters for the year markers.
I decided to include photos for some of the facts, along with the illustrations. The photos open in a new tag
